A portrait session in the studio is fun yet challenging. Most of my clients come prepared with some sample photos from the internet. I encourage them to bring a few examples of the poses they wish to get accomplished. This not only helps to make them feel relaxed but also gives time to decide the poses to be tried out.
During the photo session, the poses then gets finalized and captured based on the outfits, body posture, level of comfort in front of the camera and most importantly the reason and occasion the pictures will be used for.
Portraits session images are captured for a variety of reasons. Most popular are for business cards, schools, job interviews, acting, modelling, office pictures, business websites, social media.
For taking portraits shots my go to choice is a two piece light sources housed within soft boxes and a flash on my camera. A reflector is occasionally used to light up certain darker sections within the frame if needed. A prime lens is my other favourite.
On arrival of my client, we discuss the order in which the dresses will be used, have a chat regarding the poses and then the fun part of capturing the images begins.
This portrait session in particular was for some casual poses which to be used for publication. It was an amazing session. Pictures turned out great and very glamorous.
